Rising Star Holdings, a Chinese-American joint venture company, was burdened with a bland, cookie-cutter web site. They wanted a brand new web site with a fresh, sophisticated look and a simple, flexible interface design.
I began by designing a new logo, avoiding obvious cliches, and incorporating emblematic colors representing the United States and China. The logo colors and shape anchors the interface design. Judicious use of shades of grey creates a classic color combination and avoids a jingoistic appearance.
The site is coded with CSS and XHTML transitional.
Update: Since I worked on this, the site has been redesigned by another firm as a Flash site.
